If you live in Germany and want to adopt a child from Taiwan please contact the following adoption agencies (list in German only).
After having successfully completed the Taiwanese adoption procedures, we strongly recommend to have the adoption officially recognized under to German law.
This official recognition process determines if the Taiwanese (foreign) adoption can be recognized. This process also determines any legal consequences of the adoption with respect to German citizenship and further determines the status of the child as your legitimate child, etc.
The application for official recognition is required to be filed with the Family Court (branch Court) under the jurisdiction of the local Court (Amtsgericht), in the district where one of the adoptive parents has legal residence status and a Higher Regional Court (Oberlandesgericht) has jurisdiction.
The recognition process is free of charge.
