Formal Obligations

With immediate effect, the German Institute Taipei does no longer issue any formal obligations for visa purposes!

Please be informed that, alternative ways of financial proof are indicated in the relevant information sheets of the various visa categories.

“Citizen Services” now offered without electronic appointment

Since September 1, 2016, the German Institute Taipei practices free access for “Citizen Services" without electronic appointment. "Citizen Services" such as certification of a signature, authentication of documents, life certificate (for pensioners) are offered from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. On Fridays, we are not able to provide Citizen Services.
The processing time is usally about five working days. Please submit a self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamps or courier bag which we will use to return your document(s) to your address.

For access to our consular waiting room/counters please use the visitor terminals in the entrance area of  the Taipei 101 office building.
